Chartered Diploma in Commercial Practice (D.Com-P)
OVERVIEW:
It is a Diploma course with respect to a Company course. In this course, the students are introduced to various aspects of corporation in detail. The Commercial Practice is an act of running the company’s administration with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and to ensure that the decisions of the Board of Directors are implemented in an appropriate manner. The main aim of the program is to build a strong foundation relating to the functioning of corporate undertakings.
CAREER PROSPECTS:
The students can start working for a company as Corporate Secretary soon after completing the Diploma in Commercial Practice. Candidates can work in both public and private sector companies. Several openings are available in multinational companies. Candidates with a Diploma in Commercial Practice can also look for the various employment opportunities available in the banks and other financial institutions. Most of the banks recruit corporate secretaries as specialists in various fields of work like merchant banking, finance, law and accounts. This course will facilitate the learners to obtain lucrative career option in corporate sector.

Chartered Courses
A Chartered Course is a course which is offered for individuals who have gained a specific level of skill or competence in a particular field of work, which has been recognised for the award of a formal certificate by a relevant professional organization.
Evaluation System of Skill & Knowledge
The first and foremost aspect of this particular evaluation system is the experience gained in the relevant field. A minimum of 2 years of work experience is required. Examination will be conducted in a non-semester pattern and upon passing the Examination Mark Sheet / Certificate will be issued. One of the core driving factors is evaluating competency level of students. A Panel of eminent professors evaluate the team of students who combine their knowledge and skills to produce the work required to achieve their assigned goals and targets. It is important to point out that competencies are distinct from goals. Deciding what competencies each individual possesses is checked and evaluated as part of the evaluation process
Examination Procedure
Examination will be conducted in a non-semester pattern and upon passing the Examination Mark Sheet / Certificate will be issued. In all year of Examinations, the evaluation of student’s Skill & Knowledge is Mandatory and Skill & Knowledge will be a part of Examination

Chartered Courses are specialized programmes of Tamilnadu Council for Open and Distance Learning and does not come under the purview of Section (22) of UGC Act, AICTE and IGNOU. So Tamilnadu Council for Open and Distance Learning has got the powers to conduct Chartered Courses for the benefit of students as an Autonomous Council.
8. Whether the Chartered Courses are valid for Employment Exchange Registration?
Yes, you may go and register at the nearest Employment Exchange with the help of ID Proof and Address Proof.
9. Whether the Chartered Courses are eligible for Ministry of External Affairs attestation?

10. Whether can I apply and join job in foreign countries with the eligibility of Chartered Courses?
Yes, eligible, as Tamilnadu Council for Open and Distance Learning has obtained International Status through its approval from ICDE (International Council for Open and Distance Education, Oslo, Norway)
11. Whether the Chartered Courses will be conducted in Semester or Non-Semester pattern?

Examination for Chartered Courses will be conducted in two sessions. 1) Academic Session 2) Calendar Session.
14. When will the results and mark sheets be issued?
The results will be published in 30-45 days from the day of completion of Examination. Again, in the next 30-45 days, the mark sheets and certificates will be issued.
15. Whether verification of Chartered Certificates is possible?
Yes, Postal verification is possible on payment of Rs.500/- as Demand Draft in favour of Tamilnadu Council for Open and Distance Learning, payable at Chennai.

What purpose shall be served by the Certificate?
The Chartered Professional is an internationally valid certificate and it sets the global standard in the respective field. The Chartered Professional allows you to gain a professional qualification with specialized Designation
Difference between Chartered course and Distance course, Regular course:
Chartered Courses target people with Professional Expertise. Unlike regular education they need not appear for classes and unlike regular education they will not write exams in the standard pattern.
There will be a qualifying exam which will be sufficient enough to determine whether the individual is a professional or not.

How will the students from other countries enroll in a Chartered Professional Course?
International Students will be enrolled in online mode.
The individuals will be certified based on Video Conferencing through which their skill will be evaluated.
